The United States has officially removed Mali from its visa bond programme, which required nationals of certain countries to deposit up to $15,000 when applying for business or tourist visas.
The decision came after Mali imposed a reciprocal bond requirement on US citizens visiting the West African nation, prompting Washington to drop Bamako from the list.
