Anglican Bishops rejects choice of female Archbishop of Canterbury

The Global Fellowship of Confessing Anglicans (Gafcon), which is a network of conservative Anglican churches across Africa and Asia, received the news "with sorrow".

The Church of Southern Africa, on the other hand, called the appointment "historic" and said "we heartily welcome the announcement".
Gafcon's leadership council also argued that "the majority of the Anglican Communion still believes that the Bible requires a male-only episcopacy".

These white folks are just taking Africa and Asia for granted. This lady is known to openly support same sex relationships and yet she is the only one they see fit for the position... How ironic!!!

These guys disregard Africa in every way. We contribute more than they will ever do to the Anglican church... I think it's time we stood on our own. I can't wait for the 2026 bishop's conference in Abuja
